This is the annual deck issued by The Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards for 1955, featuring Winston Churchill receiving the Freedom of the City of London in 1955.

So often packs of cards are wrapped in cellophane and stored in the original box. Not so with this double set: each pack is tightly wrapped in blue/white printed paper with an oval cutout on the top to show the first card.

These special decks are collectable in their own right. Not only were they sold as a double deck in the presentation case as shown here, they they were also issued as single decks in the blue or the red as shown in Smith p. 90.

Neither deck has been opened. Box has some scuff marks but is still very sturdy.
